It also has a clever edge following ledge feature, a retractable compass pin, and an onboard pencil sharpener. It is also hinged in two spots and is a lot easier to adjust than the typical screws in a scrap block. This Milescraft ScribeTec Scribing Tool has the advantages of both-it folds up and is small and portable, yet is stable like the scrap block. The compass is easier to keep in your shirt pocket, while the scribing block is more stable-especially important when scribing several feet along the bottom of a bulkhead to fit against a fiberglass cabin pan. There seems to be two groups in the shop: those that carry a small compass around or those that have fabricated from scrap a "Shop Made" Scribing Block. You can imagine what it is like fitting wooden cabinetry to the inside of a boat's hull. ↳ Pen Markers, Remote Controls, Drawing Tablets, etc.Almost nothing in a boat is square and plumb.↳ Fab Tables, Grind Stations, Material Storage & Handling.↳ Water Tables, Ventilation, Air Handling.↳ Air Dryers, Air Filters, Air Compressors, Etc.↳ Metal Bending, Rolling, Notching, Drilling, Saw Cutting.↳ Mig Welders, Tig Welders, Spot Welders.↳ EasyScriber for Hypertherm, Thermal Dynamics, Razorweld, Esab.↳ EasyScriber Drag Style Scriber for Hypertherm.↳ Steel F/X Your Metal Patina & Dye Connection.↳ Quick & Helpful CorelDRAW Tutorial Videos.↳ DIY Plasma Table & Accessory Discussion Forum.↳ RazorWeld, Everlast, & All Other Plasma Cutters.↳ Thermal Dynamics / Esab Plasma Cutters.↳ Displaying the Powermax 65 85 Service Screen.↳ Powermax 65 & 85 Common Fault Code, Diagnotics, & Troubleshooting Forum.↳ Powermax Fault Code, Diagnostics, & Troubleshooting Forums.↳ Powermax SYNC 65, 85, 105 Cut Speed Charts.↳ Pricing, Advertising, & Marketing Your Products Forum.↳ Hypertherm's Tips to Troubleshoot Cut Angularity.↳ Hypertherm's 10 Common Plasma Cutting Mistakes.↳ Hypertherm's Basic Tips to Improve Cut Quality.↳ CNC Plasma Cutter Project Picture Gallery.↳ DXF & SVG Plasma Cutting File Sharing Forum.DXF DESIGN & PROJECT PICTURE SHARING FORUMS. ![]() ↳ Contributing Membership Registration or Renewal.WELCOME CENTER, GOOD INFO & MEET OUR SPONSORS.I used it to engrave 304 Stainless hand turned mechanical pencils with names and artwork in a small rotary axis.but that is another story. 01 depth makes a lot of difference in the width of the engraved lines. It was a bear to setup each time because the difference between a. I built one for a small CNC table that I wanted to do engraving and even route PCB's on, and I used a Foredom hand rotary tool and turned a holder for the end cap of a solder sucker with the nylon nosepiece that mounted on the same holder as the hand piece. The PCD has to be adjusted so you have a few thousands of penetration. The cutting tool must be floating and not put the entire weight of the tool on the cut, so the there needs to be an adjustable counterweight spring. To do it correctly you have to have a PCD: "Penetration Control Device" ( sounds nasty) in the form of an adjustable hollow nozzle that surrounds the V bit and rides on the work so it follows the contour of the metal. The deeper you let it cut the wider the line and the more torque it takes to keep it from bogging down. To do engraving right you need a rotary engraving bit (V shaped). Engraving is a whole different process than marking with an electric or pneumatic scriber tool.
